Freedom’s Promise was able to donate its first $100 to trafficking victims in the Nashville area! Two young women were recently rescued by World Relief. Their cases are currently under investigation so we are limited in what information we can share. While they came from two different situations of exploitation, in both cases family members were the exploiter or allowed the exploitation to occur. Both girls are doing well though rehabilitation is never an easy road. They are reconnecting to a new community that includes those from their own culture, which is very important. They are learning English; one has secured a great job, opened a bank account, is going to high school and studying to take the driver’s test.
When Freedom’s Promise became aware of these two women their basic needs were met by World Relief staff. However, they were both passing monumental birthdays into adulthood and World Relief was throwing them a surprise birthday party. Twenty people came to celebrate with them ensuring they had a local family to love and care for them. Freedom’s Promise was able to provide the funds so World Relief could purchase gifts, a big cake, streamers and balloons - everything needed to ensure they felt special and loved on their birthday.
